What Is the best Anti-virus?
By Warren Shacklette
I get this question a lot and I usually respond that you do not need to pay large amounts of money for anti-virus software. There are many free anti-virus software suites such as AVG, Avast, Trend Micro and other special programs that specialize in Malware and Spyware Removal. Two that I highly recommend are Malwarebytes and Superanti-spyware. All of these programs I have mentioned have both paid versions and free versions. I find that the free versions are adequate for most people but you can pay to have a more Real-Time protection which may help some people who do a lot of Internet shopping or downloading. The costs are usually very reasonable $25-$50 yearly in some cases. This is in contrast to the more well known Norton’s and McAffe programs that can be much more expensive and don’t seem to be worth the extra cost or pressure to renew.
I must also note that in Windows 10 there is the built in free Windows Defender that seems to be getting a lot of good reviews. Do a little research and you may find the right combinations of anti-virus protection for you. I hope this helps give you a little better understanding of anti-virus and malware options.
